As Amer Abdallah wrapped up his second camp in las Vegas with world renowned boxing trainer Jeff Mayweather, I had the opportunity to sit down with both men to get their thoughts on how things have gone for them over the past year.
Despite boxing obviously being only one half of the required skills necessary to compete effectively in kickboxing, Abdallah felt that working with Mayweather would give him an advantage over his fellow competitors. And if his last bout is to serve as any indication (Abdallah scored a quick first round knockout), it is hard to argue with him. Now the pair hope to replicate their past success when Abdallah returns to action on June 7 in his hometown of Lockport, NY.
Chemistry is something they both frequently mention when asked what makes their partnership work, and from this video, it’s easy to see that they have it. Looking to add the first kickboxing champion to his resume, Jeff Mayweather believes that he can be the final piece Abdallah needs to reach his ultimate dream of being a world champion.
